A eficiência reprodutiva do rebanho depende do intervalo entre parto e concepção, por isso saber com certeza se a fêmea está com prenhez positiva ou negativa é um passo importante para a sustentação da atividade econômica da bovinocultura. O animal com prenhez confirmada poderá receber tratamento adequado e ser colocado em pasto de melhor qualidade, com alimentação correspondente ao seu estado. Caso contrário, terá a possibilidade de cruzar novamente. Outra razão é que em bovinos é comum acontecer a morte de fetos entre 10 e 15 dias de gestação. Por isso, a detecção precoce da prenhez é importante para o bom planejamento das atividades de cobertura na propriedade. About half that area is degraded or in process of degradation. The problem reduces the capacity to support pastures and herd productivity, impairing, thus, cattle raising development in the area. To recover pastures producing capacity and improve cattle food quality, Embrapa Acre invested in the development of new grasses and leguminous plants planted in degraded areas.
